Claire’s college graduation photo session at Kent State University was pure joy from start to finish. As a senior photographer, sessions like this are exactly why I love what I do. Claire arrived on campus with the biggest smile, unmatched energy, and the sweetest personality. To make the celebration even more memorable, she brought not one—but two—bottles of champagne to pop in honor of her incredible achievement. I couldn’t wait to start capturing this exciting milestone for her.

Spring is one of the most beautiful times for graduation photo sessions at Kent State University. The campus was just beginning to bloom, with vibrant flowers and colorful trees that perfectly matched Claire’s enthusiasm. She envisioned graduation pictures surrounded by blossoms, and Claire loves daffodils so pictures on Daffodil Hill was a must. We explored some of the prettiest spots on campus, discovering stunning backdrops filled with spring color. If you’re considering Kent State graduation photos in the spring, you truly can’t beat this season.

One of Claire’s special requests was to take photos at Satterfield Hall, where many of her classes were held. As an American Sign Language major with a minor in education, this location carried meaningful memories from her college journey. Including personal and significant locations is something I always encourage during graduation sessions—it makes senior portraits feel even more authentic and unique.

Claire’s accomplishments go far beyond the classroom. Since high school, she has participated in Model United Nations debates and Mock Trial, and last year she even served as president of Kent State’s Mock Trial team—such an impressive leadership achievement. It’s clear she is passionate, driven, and dedicated to making a difference.

After graduation, Claire plans to teach American Sign Language at the high school level or pursue a Master’s degree in education. The future is so bright for her, and there’s no doubt she will make an incredible impact as an educator.

One of the most fun parts of her Kent State graduation session was popping champagne in two different campus locations. Those images are filled with laughter, movement, and genuine celebration—such a perfect way to honor this major milestone.

As a senior photographer, being trusted to capture moments like these is truly an honor. Getting to celebrate alongside graduates, preserve their college memories, and document the beginning of their next chapter is the most rewarding part of my job. Claire’s session was unforgettable, and I’m so grateful to have been a small part of her story. 🤍
